How about you? Do you prefer outlining first or just diving in and trusting the Force, Luke?
(That animal at the end is Piggle, the cutest skinny pig on earth.)

I sometimes do an outline before I dive right into a story, but when inspiration hits me, I will dive right in. Usually, I do know how the beginning and ending will turn out, but in between it’s mostly a mystery. Even though I’ll sometimes have notes and an outline beside me, I never really know how it’s going to turn out. My outlines will change constantly. It’s the thrill of not knowing what will happen is the interesting part.
However, I have found out that if I do reach a corner I somehow manage to make a way around it. But it may take weeks or even months though to figure it all out in my head. I feel that rushing towards the end doesn’t work out for me even though I really want to finish the story. I find out that waiting it out gives me the best results. It would be nice to dish out a book every year, but patience is the key and you can’t rush ideas or endings. 🙂
I like your presentation, You have a nice voice for it. My husband and I used to do speech writing and coaching, and here’s one tiny bit of advice. Stop using a script so you can look at the camera. That is hard, especially for us somewhat self-conscious creatures. But it is imperative if you want to connect with your audience. I look forward to your next one.
I improv my podcasts but if I went off script for the video, you wouldn’t like my presentation. 🙂
