The folks over at the Oxford English Dictionary published their latest updates to the OED today, revising and adding to a language which already contains more than 600,000 recorded words. I was having this discussion with a co-worker more than 6 years ago and he made the quite convincing point that language has always evolved, and will continue to do so. Proud to be on the Blog Roll. “Kevin Smith Glee Club” – love it!
My blog is going to see some politics in the next six weeks due to the election but I’m hoping to use that as an opportunity to feign intellect.
Working on the Big Idea as well. As my wife definitely doesn’t read the comments on the blogs I read I can divulge that I am taking 10 months of voice lessons (January to end of October) and am going to surprise her with a live performance of 3 songs: 1 with a full band (All Uncovered by The Watchmen), 1 a capella (yikes! Between the Wars by Billy Bragg), and 1 piano/guitar/voice song (Lucky by Bif Naked). In addition, I’m filming every lesson and getting lots of additional footage along the way and I’m cutting it into a documentary (tentatively titled “The Anniversary Present”).
Ta da!

Andrew, that sounds like an awesome idea. That has real potential. I’m much less imaginative when I give my wife gifts…so I will not tell her about your project.
Ladies and gentlemen! A film by Andrew F. Butters! Shaming husbands everywhere!
